Dr. Punam Chohan

After obtaining her Medical Degree (MD), Dr. Punam Chohan practiced Internal Medicine in India. She then pursued her Master’s Degree in Cardiac Physiology at St. Boniface Research Center, with the University of Manitoba, a Centre of Excellence in heart research in North America. Dr. Chohan’s research on heart disease and diabetes has been published in various high-impact factor peer-reviewed medical journals and book chapters. She has presented her research at many conferences and lectures nationwide.
After working in clinical research and the pharmaceutical industry for many years, Dr. Chohan developed a deep passion for holistic, alternative medicine as well as Yoga wellness. To pursue this passion, she obtained a degree in Holistic Nutrition (CHNC) and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (DTCM and RAc). Through her clinical practice, she creates health and wellness programs based on the latest scientific research to deal with health issues such as mental health, diabetes, heart disease, and women’s health.
Dr. Chohan has been practicing and teaching traditional forms/protocols of Yoga aimed at healing different systems in the body. In her spare time, she finds the most joy out in the wilderness, meditating in Alberta’s Rockies, ravines, and rivers.
